Roberto Firmino kickstarted his career in the Saudi Pro League in style, after he scored a superb hattrick for Al-Ahli during the opening game of the Saudi season.
The former Liverpool forward completed the move to the Saudi side this summer and now forms an exciting former Premier League front three.
Al-Ahli beat Al-Hazem 3-1 in the opening game of the season and the Brazilian forward was superb as the Middle Eastern side, who will be hoping to challenge for the league title this season, although it will be difficult.
Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad will have something to say about that possibility and with the stars that both sides possess, whether it’s Cristiano Ronaldo or Karim Benzema.
‘I’m enjoying it here’
A signing that Al-Ahli have made that may go under the radar compared to the other two of this front three is Allan Saint-Maximin.
The former Newcastle United forward, who lit up the Premier League for years before deciding he wanted to try something different, spoke to the Daily Mail about what it has been like since he completed the move to the Middle Eastern side.
“It’s different from what I am used to,” the French winger said. “The people here are lovely and I am really enjoying being here.
“I’m really happy to be here this is only the first game and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the future.”
The devastating front three of the Frenchman, Brazilian, and Algerian in Riyad Mahrez, is sure to cause issues for every defence in the country.
Saint-Maximin could well be one of the most important players on the team and with the defensive acquisition of Roger Ibanez from AS Roma could well be the dark horse in the division.
