Al-Ahli could be set to make a move for exciting Marseille player Azzedine Ounahi, 23, and he could cost in the region of £15-20 million.

According to a report from French outlet L’Equipe, the Moroccan attacking midfielder, who excelled at the World Cup in 2022, is on the radar of Al-Ahli this summer.

The Moroccan midfielder only joined the French club in January but could well be set for a move to the Middle Eastern side.

Al-Ahli are seemingly crying out for another midfield option after missing out on Marco Verratti, who could be set to make a move to Qatari side Al Arabi this summer.

Al-Hilal could well be in the mix, too, because of missing out on the former Pescara midfielder.

Ounahi has a lot of interest

Following his superb performances where he, alongside his Moroccan teammates, reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar, there was a lot of interest in his services.

The Moroccan international, according to L’Equipe, previously attracted interest from clubs around Europe.

This includes teams from the Premier League and even Barcelona. However, he decided to remain in Ligue 1, switching SCO Angers for Marseille.

The Frenchman struggled early on following his move to the French giants and suffered injuries.

Finally, he is returning to his World Cup form so a move to the Middle East has been touted.

Intermediaries are currently sounding out whether the Moroccan would be interested in making a move to the Saudi side according to the report.

But, as of yet, there has been no contact between the clubs or with the player, so it seems to be agent talks as things stand.

Ounahi would represent a good signing for the Saudi side and for a fee in the region of £20 million, he would represent excellent value for money for Matthias Jaissle’s side.
